How to adopt
At Tiny Tigers NJ, our goal is to place the animals in our care in a permanent, loving and safe environment. We know that finding the right companion is tough and takes time. That’s why our adoption process is designed to help you find the perfect fit.
FIVE STEPS TO ADOPTION
APPLICATION
Fill out and send the application. Your application will be reviewed by our adoption team within 72 hours. Because our animals are in foster homes, meet and greets will only be conducted once an applicant has been approved.
PHONE INTERVIEW
We will set up time for a phone call to go over your application, additional questions we have and answer any questions you may have about the animal or process. Plan for the call to take approximately 15 - 30 minutes.
HOME VISIT
One of our adoption team members will schedule time with you for a home visit. The purpose of the home visit is to meet the other family members and take a look at the home environment to ensure the safety of our animal.
MEET YOUR PET
Once approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. If the meet and greet is successful, you may bring your four legged friend home. We request that all family members and animals are present.
FOSTER TO ADOPT
We know bringing home a new pet isn’t easy. That’s why we require a two week get-to-know each other period before finalizing the adoption, paying the adoption fee and helping to give the next animal in need a chance at forever.
ADOPTION FEES
$250 for kittens
$200 for cats (1 year and up)
WHY FEES?
Tiny Tigers NJ is a nonprofit made up of a network of volunteers. We are solely dependent on the funds we raise through donations, events and processing fees. Every penny raised goes directly to the animals we rescue to cover vet bills, medication, transportation, and more. We do not profit from our adoption fees. On average, just basic veterinary care costs approximately 3x more than the cost of our fees.
