Keri Kutansky,
Founder
I was always destined to be a rescuer. My great grandma was the head of the humane society in her area, and rescuing passed to my grandma, then my mother, and now me.
My first rescue came when I was 3. I remember waiting as we begged my dad to be able to keep the tiny kitten who snuck into my brother’s kindergarten school. She was a little scraggly black kitten who turned out to be a gorgeous, long-haired green eyed cat named Priscilla.
As a family, we went on to rescue many animals from the streets. From that point on, my compassion for animals in need took over.
At 21, I moved to NYC and decided to donate my time with a rescue in Brooklyn. I spent 5.5 years heading up their fundraising team, supporting their animal care efforts and building their shelter. Ultimately, I felt I could do more.
When I moved to Jersey City, the abundance of strays was right in front of me. My eyes were wide open and I realized... a bigger house means I can rescue more animals.
My journey in forming Tiny Tigers began here. In my first 3 years of living in Jersey City and working in real estate in Manhattan and Brooklyn, my love and life partner and I have rescued many cats.
I now know I am a #realtorandrescuer for life.

I always loved animals. As a kid I would build bug houses and return lost dogs to their homes. Now I have two dogs of my own, frequently foster and am known as the treat lady in the neighborhood. When Keri told me about Tiny Tigers, I couldn’t wait to join the cause and help save as many animal lives as possible. I can’t wait to see what we are able to accomplish…we’re only getting started!

I desperately wanted pets when I was a child, but I had to wait until later in my life to have them - and that wait, was totally worth it! I cannot imagine life without my fur babies - they are my everything. It is my love for animals that made me reach out to Keri and sign up as a foster - one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! It makes me so proud to be part of an organization that treats every rescue animal with so much love, care, respect and compassion.
